I can't believe it/s almost been almost a year since my last post. I have been a busy girl with family, work, life. But here I am, with some updates and what the future blogs will be about/ I have been out for a little over 2 years now and it has been amazing, living the way I have wanted to live for years. There has been a lot of self reflection on being Sarah and what that means. As a member of Crossdresser Heaven I have made some friends who are also Trans/Gender Fluid or Two Spirit and being out with them, being able to go to church, going to dinner or lunch and just being out in public has been life changing. Not just the clothing but my mental health and emotional stability.
Recently, our pastor was and is taking recomendations about various activities and I suggested a lecture series about Crossdressing/Transgender and being in the church. This idea is influenced by the book "What the Bible Says about Transgender and what Scripture has to say." This got me to thinking about my own personal life and the struggles I have had growing up and into adulthood so why not try to educate people about the Bible and transgender individuals who struggle with the same issues, a mentor or guide because it's no fun being on an island.
So my next few posts will be about surviving being a Trans Chrisitian in church. Not all churches are bad, there are many affirming churches and a lot of very hardcore bible thumping denominations that have reversed course like the Methodists and Baptists. They have splintered along Trans/Homosexual lines of acceptance and welcoming. One big change is the change in social acceptance and actually saying God is love and not hate. I will be writing about Biblical history from Genesis to Revelations, mis-translations, key Biblical figures, context of the time and place (relvancy).
And if you are reading this please pass it along.
